Introduction
Indore district, located in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the most prominent regions of central India. Situated on the Malwa plateau at an altitude of 553 meters above sea level, it lies along the banks of the Sarasvati and Khan rivers. These Rivers Meet at the City Center, where the historic 18th-century Sangamnath or Indreshwar temple stands. The district derives its name from this deity, symbolizing its deep cultural roots. Indore serves as the district headquarters and is divided into four blocks Sanwer, Indore, Depalpur, and Mhow and five tehsils: Indore, Sanwer, Mhow, Depalpur, and Hatod. With 335 panchayats, 677 revenue villages, 649 development villages, and 36 police stations, Indore is both an administrative and cultural hub of Madhya Pradesh.
